Happenings Around Town
What’s new at Hitched?
3 things to share;
1-William w/Hitched who is our talented Business Manger/graphic designer/best Boyfriend over, is
starting culinary school this week! Cooking has always been William’s passion and after a career in the military, diplomatic security and finance he has made the decision to pursue his dream in the culinary arts. Obviously I couldn’t be more thrilled for him and selfishly myself as I will be along for the food ride
He will still hold down the fort wearing his multiple hats at Hitched, but now I will in turn support him in pursuing his dreams as he has supported me in mine. More to come as we follow his foodie journey.
2-Hitched does dessert tables! Many people don’t know that we design cus
tom dessert tables to fit any party theme, it has been a well kept secret among the close inner circle. Why such a secret? Honestly I haven’t had the space to store all of my vases, platters and crafts in one space as I have downsized my entire life this year. No way was I going to drive back and forth from NW Portland to the coast (folks pad) to pick things up all the time. Now after some serious reorganization at the office, I have everything here and I am taking orders! We are currently working on a custom dessert table for a baby shower and I forgot how much I love designing these tables. The majority of the weddings and events that we design are anything from “cutesy” so it is nice to get a chance to incorporate polka dots from time to time. I have included a picture from a cake William baked so we could practice my food stamps. More pictures to come as we continue with designing. Email or call to learn more about the dessert tables, pricing, and availability.
3-Hitched has gone green! In my attempt to simplify my life as well as my personal contribution to the “3-R’s” reduce, reuse, & recycle, I have said goodbye to my BMW X3 and have officially become a “Zipster!” Once I moved blocks away from my Hitched office in NW Portland I hardly ever drove my car. William and I found that we walked so much; home, office, market, restaurants, etc that when we had to drive someplace it was literally traumatic. I know that is hard to read since American’s are so attached to their cars, but it is true. William would have instant road rage and I felt that everything just took so much longer like we were wasting our lives stuck in traffic. After a little research, the decision to Zipcar become easy for me.
It is so simple to Zipcar, you purchase your membership (I got a great Groupon discount), you receive your Zipcard, create your online account, download an app if you have an iPhone, reserve your car and then go! Gas and insurance is included so all you need to do is just select the model of car and where to pick it up and how long you need it. Coolest ever! I will be using it tomorrow for a meeting at LeftBank Annex. BTW you can also reserve a group of Zipcar’s for your out of town wedding guests. Contact my new friends at Zipcar to learn more.
Happy Planning!
